Weight Loss and Ghrelin

Ghrelin... This is the hormone that controls hunger and fullness. Research shows that the more protein you eat, the more the ghrelin is suppressed, meaning you feel full. The level of ghrelin stays high when fat is consumed. (bad thing) Carbs lower it temporarily, but then send it soaring shortly after. (more bad things) Ghrelin is produced in your stomach. Protein makes it subside so it doesn't reach your brain and you feel full. Good thing.

The one thing that interferes with ghrelin production and makes you feel hungry all the time is quite possibly the one most important factor in our fight with obesity. High Fructose Corn Syrup. Not just fructose, but the High Fructose.The delayed decrease of the hormone ghrelin has been shown in obese subjects but not in normal weight subjects. This means that chronic consuption of fructose may actually be preconditioning the metabolism of a normal weight individual to behave like an obese individual's metabolism.

You might say What does all this mean? If you read your labels, you will notice that high fructose corn syrup is in almost everything these days. If it is true that it affects the ghrelin and leptin hormones and prevents us from feeling full, it could be responsible for overeating. In addition to doing your best to create great eating habits and eating your veggies, you should be diligent about staying away from HFCS.

When you focus your brain on specific strategies like to change the release of the hormones, the perception of hunger changes, and the exciting part is that you love to eat veggies. And if you are eating veggies instead of twinkies, things might just work out.

Weight Loss and Herbalife

Just a few coments about Herbalife, weather you know of Herbalife personally, or maybe you just heard of the name, but is not sure what the story is here. Prehaps maybe you know somebody who has been a part of Herbalife. What ever the case is you should know that it works, the only question is will you let Herbalife work in you.
Herbalife has been around since 1980, and was started by Mark Hughs, his story and the Herbalife story was born out of a tragegy in Mark Hughs life. He lost his mother because a of prescription drug over dose. What happen was that his mother was trying to lose just 30lbs, and she was taking some prescription drugs to help her with that, then found was unable to sleep, so she got some more medication to help her sleep. well with the drugs on board and fighting against her she accidently overdosed. Mark was only 18yrs old at the time.
This tragegy would have been in vein if not for Mark Hughs turning this around in his life. He knew there had to be a way to help others lose weight with killing them. So was born Herbalife, a safe healthy natural way to lose weight. Herbalife being a soy based product has made it possible for just about anybody to use and recieve the benifit of Herbalife.
Here is basis on which Herbalife works, (3-2-1), Vitimins 3 times a day, 2 shakes a day, and 1 reg meal just cut back. The hard part for me and others is getting use to drinking a health shake for a meal and that being satisfiying. Dont get me wrong the shakes are tasty, but I am 490lbs and 1 shake doesnt fill my tank. Herbalife is also a little pricy, but then again who can really but a price on good health, I guess going to the ER with herat failure would be pricy too.
The nugget with Herbalife is the chance to make alot of money, but it is hard work, as soon as you tell your freiends and family about Herbalife, or any other MLM company you start to lose friends. Some how its ok to let your friends shop other places spend money on things that dont work, but its not ok to help your friends get products that do work. All because its not cool to sell your friends things unless they walk into your retail store someplace. Well with Herbalife you dont have a retail store you have your home, and the trunk of your car to do business.
Well if your willing to risk losing friends, just because you have a product that has a 28yr track record of success, then Herbalife might be for you. Since my involvement in Herbalife I have had some success, but I havent always let Herbalife finish the job in me, becuase no matter how good Herbalife is, it just doesnt take the place of a good pizza. Herbalife works, I just didnt work very well. The good thing Herbalife is that it is also very forgiving, even when you fail you can alway re-start again.
Going back to the money thing, I myself have met several people in the business who have made over $30,000.00 a month, my upline was making over $50,000.00 a month the last time I checked with her. The money is there, and the chance to reclaim your health is there also.

Weight Loss, and working out (Covert Bailey)


Weight Loss, is hard enough with all the cutting back counting calories, but now we also have to work out, but don't over do it. After all some people go to the gym everyday and struggle to get any results at all, while others can go just a few times and see results the reason a persons fitness level. Covert Bailey talks about this in his series he has on PBS,
In short when you go to the gym, or do whatever it is you do to work out. You will eventually hit a point where your results are slow to show, even though you are working even harder than before results are still slow, the solution is to mix it up a bit, as Covert Bailey suggests if your work out is running, then switch to bicycling for a while, or cross country skiing, just do something else for a while, what this does is it gives your muscles a chance to rest-up, from doing the same old thing, though you might still be using the same muscles, but your not moving them the same old way. This gives you a chance to still get a good work out, and build the same muscle from moving a different way, and thus enabling you to get some results again.
Just for the record Covert Bailey is the author of the book "Fit or Fat", he has given PBS series of lectures about healthy living, and nutrition. When you hear him speak his charm, and character will assure you that he is a expect in the field, yet he will also you make you feel as if you could talk with him, with him talking over your head. He makes this stuff easy to understand.

Weight Loss


The picture kind-of says it all doesn't it? Weight loss is not the easiest thing to deal with, as for me I am over 480lbs and need to lose this weight. I have gotten engaged last year, and my wedding is going be Aug 10th, 2008. Now I know I wont lose everything I need to lose, but I hope to lose about 10lbs a month. Wish me luck..One thing I believe is that weight lose is not about doing just one thing different, but its doing several things to fix a body that is out of control. What I mean is that when I was thinking about Hypnosis, one of the things they asked me in the interview, was "How has your weight served you"? after thinking about it it has served some purpose, it made me bigger, and less of a target for those who are looking for a fight. (As a kid in school, I had many of these fights with the other kids in school. All of them just wanted to mess with the fat kid)..Now that I am a adult this doesn't come very often, after I am big enough that nobody wants to chance it with me, beside most of us have out-grown that phase of our life. However the scars of the earlier years remain, other scars I got was from being forced to eat certain foods when I didn't want too hence making me gag, and today nobody is forcing me to eat anything, but even today I wont certain foods. The sad thing is the foods I don't eat eat are the foods that are suppose to help weight loss, instead I eat Hamburgers and Hot dogs. Very hard to lose weight with that kind of in-take..After listening to the experts its all about exercising more and eating less, another source says you might not be aware of your physical appearances, which makes sense because how often do you look in the mirror and look at your whole body? I know for me when I look in the mirror, I am seeing just my head and shoulders, and when I do see my whole body in all its glory I am disgusted with what I see, and to comfort myself I tell myself I am going to get serious about weight loss, and I order a pizza. As Susan Powter once said its time to "Stop the insanity".we all need to stop lying to ourselves, start appreciating who we are to our family, loved ones, and who we are to our God..Its been said before "Our lives are a gift from God, what we become is our gift to God".Its time get real and take a multi-step approach to weight loss, do your dieting, do your exercising, and love yourself to do something to save your life, it would be your gift to your family, loved ones, and your gift back to God..Don't get discouraged when you don't lose as much as you want, or when you think you should, remember you didn't get over weight over night, so wont lose the weight overnight either..I am going to put my life of display through this media form, please send me your stories, and your encouragement, and if you have lost more than 100lbs I really want your story. Weight Loss and Hypnosis

If weight loss was your news years resolution, and you have tried one failed diet after another, then Hypnosis might be the answer for you. You have probably heard that a lot of people who have dieted and had some success, only to gain it back again. Well I am one of these people, the problem is that persons body shape can be likened to a piece of rubber. What I mean is that a piece of rubber can be stretched out yet it always return to its previous shape, the human body is like that too.
This is what happens when a person loses weight but hasn't changed their mind set. That is to say that if your mindset says you have to weigh a certain amount, and look a certain way then your body, and mind works very hard to return to it original shape. So one of the secrets to weight loss is to change your mind set. This is where hypnosis can come into play, with Hypnosis you sit down with a therapist you talk about the why, why do you continue to eat in such a way that keeps you fat, why being as big as you are has served you. Once these issues have been addressed then you can start to make changes in your mindset, that would allow you to get too a healthy weight.
In other words you are created a new image of yourself, you give yourself permission to make a change for the better. You start to see yourself at a healthier weight, and your mind starts to except that a healthier weight serves you better, than the weight you use to be.
Weight loss is more than just counting calories, and exercising more, its also changing your mindset, that a healthier weight is the right path for you.
